Venerable Chris speaking at the first international ‘Mind and Its Potential Conference’ in Sydney. Venerable Chris has given guest lectures at local and international conferences and to a diverse range of organisations, from attitudinal healing groups to universities, hospitals and community groups. She has taught doctors, nurses, social workers, rehabilitation specialists, counsellors, and the physically and mentally ill. She has also taught many groups from all the major schools of Buddhism (embracing the whole spectrum of Buddhism), as well as other religious and philosophical organisations.

Venerable Chris founded Karuna Cottage in North Queensland. Karuna is run and owned by the North Queensland centre. It is a self-contained cottage on Magnetic Island, available for the physically disabled, ill and elderly to use for respite at discounted rates.

His Eminence Khejok Rinpoche and Venerable Chris during one of Rinpoche’s visits to the Institute. Shortly after, Rinpoche announced that Venerable Chris had developed a new approach to Tibetan Buddhism. The new approach has evolved from teaching Buddhism within the Institute, when it was originally a Traditional Tibetan Medical Institute.

The Institute moved into the newly finished Gompa at Thomas Street, Chatswood, in October 2007.
